It'll make you cry... The most touching scenes! Top 5 tear-jerking moments in "One Piece"

5th place: "Sanji's past - his bond with Zeff"

The Baratie Arc, which depicts Sanji's past, cannot be talked about without tears. How many fans shed tears at the scene where Zeff sacrificed one of his legs to save Sanji when young Sanji was adrift at sea and in danger of losing his life? Zeff gave up his cherished "dream" to protect Sanji, and a deep bond was born during the time they spent together. It was heartbreaking to see Sanji call Zeff "Dad" and swallow his words of gratitude as they parted ways.

Osamu's manga review: Zeff's awkwardness in expressing his love makes the parting scene with Sanji all the more touching. Sanji's inability to express his gratitude in words is very boyish, but it's also tear-jerking...!

4th place: "Farewell to Vivi - The promise of 'See you again!'"

The farewell scene with Vivi in the Alabasta arc is also a tear-jerking scene. Vivi asked the Straw Hats for help in saving her country and fought alongside them, but in the end she chose to protect her country as the princess of the Alabasta Kingdom. The scene where Vivi, who can no longer travel with Luffy and the others, shouts from afar, "See you again," and the Straw Hats silently hold up "X marks" on their arms is truly moving. This "X mark" is a symbol of friendship and a promise to never forget.

Osamu's Manga Review: Although Vivi did not end up joining the Straw Hat Crew, her presence will remain in my heart forever. The scene where they hold up the "X" is simple, but it's the ultimate proof of friendship.

3rd place: "Farewell to the Merry - Thank you, Merry"

Saying goodbye to the Merry, which had accompanied them on their adventures in One Piece, was a big challenge for fans and Luffy and his crew. Even though they knew that the ship had reached its limit and could no longer sail, the Straw Hats continued their final voyage with the Merry. In the scene where the burning Merry mustered its last bit of strength to say "Thank you" to the crew, not only the crew members but also readers could not hold back their tears.

Osamu's manga review: The moment the Merry said "Thank you," I felt as much love as I did with a living character. I'm in awe of Oda-sensei's portrayal of the world of One Piece, where even ships have souls!

2nd place: "Ace's last words: 'Thank you for loving me'"

Ace's final moments in the Battle of Marineford arc are some of the most tear-jerking scenes in One Piece. Luffy risks his life to save his brother, Ace, but his wish is not granted and Ace loses his life to protect Luffy. Ace's final words, "Thank you for loving me," are so heavy that no one can hold back their tears. Ace's death was a huge shock not only to Luffy but also to his fans, and it became an unforgettable scene along with his smile.

Osamu's manga review: This line made me realize that Ace was happiest when he was surrounded by Luffy and his Whitebeard Pirates comrades. Ace's last moments were so sad, but his smile was a relief.

1st place: "Nami's cry: 'Help me... Luffy!'"

And the number one spot goes to Nami's cry in the Arlong Park arc. This is the moment when Nami, who has been tormented by the Arlong Crew, finally asks Luffy for help. The scene where Nami, who has been suppressing her emotions for many years, cries out in tears for "help" is one of the most famous scenes in One Piece. When Luffy hears her and replies "Of course!", the scene where they head off to Arlong Park is deeply etched in the hearts of all fans.

Osamu's manga review: The moment Nami's emotions exploded, her past pain and despair were conveyed all at once, and Luffy's words "Of course!" felt incredibly reassuring. This scene is filled with the friendship and trust that characterize One Piece.
